September 2006 Catching UP...Hi...The posts in this blog are ment to settle down some IT ideias and for the ocasional concepts refreshing, despite all the ends it may end up being used for...
Posts will done exporadically and will be moustly about technology news, issues and projects I'm involved with. To make a small introduction of what I've been doing for the first years of my carrer, I started in a
consultancy company, Kaska Consulting, our goal was to address the commun IT issues the world faces today, like, how to manage the IT portfolio, how to overcome entreprise information islands, how to supress the typical WAN issues in multinational corporations, then to find the best of breed solutions, and given the topics potenctial costumers where easy to find. I was not actually prepared for the kind of job I ended up doing, the course I've taken teacthed me more about programming than about business needs and market prospection. Maybee because of this I learned a lot during the time I was there, and one of the things I've noticed most was that IT departments where always in aparent caous, most of the portfolio was not known, people could not find reasons the prove the need of many software that was purchased and, maybe bause the overload of tasks made them like that, they where not worried about it.
A opportunity came to join a team in another company in which tasks included programming. With the knowledge I got from working in KASKA, I started working in Vantyx as a CRM Consultant. Knowing/helping the client was a requirement, something that I learned/improved in KASKA, and I got the change de develop again.
I've been on the Vantyx CRM team for some time now, it is a great tool for companies that want to amage their relationship with they're cliente, but making things short, we noticed that it is seldom deployed where legacy solutions will still act an active part in the companies business needs, and because of it there where require integration components, for this MS Biztalk solution as become more and more used. I've never been on a project that required it yet and I've came to knowledge that it would the a good idea to have more knowedge about this solution. I've started woking on the subject just a fiew days ago and basicly I'll start to post about it....
